Zambi is a wildlife retreat for Australia’s ‘unwanted’ big cats. I go there to paint.
One afternoon this lion, rescued as a cub and hand rasied, lounged next to his keepers as they chatted. They are part of his pride. He, however, stared at me unnervingly. I felt like chicken dinner. So much power and dormant kinetic energy!
