WHAT IS A GICLEE PRINT?
Giclée (pronounced Gee’clay) - is a French term meaning to spray or squirt, that was coined in 1991 by a clever printmaker, Jack Duganne, specifically for fine art digital prints. In giclee printing the ink is sprayed onto the paper. No screen or other mechanical devices are used, as in older styles of printing, so there is no dot screen pattern (like you see in a magazine). The print retains all the tonalities and hues of the original painting. We have been known to confuse our prints with the originals! OUR PRINT GUARANTEE Our giclee prints are created with materials tested to last a lifetime. We use the finest quality, acid free 310GSM Hahnemuhle or Canson paper and archival Epsom inks which have improved print permanence characteristics that provide lightfastness ratings of up to 100 years for color prints.
