As I painted this stag I thought back to my years as a Creative Director - I had so much determination as a young woman in a man's world directing shows in different languages... how often I forgot or neglected or was unable to express tenderness in the stress of getting the show done.
This painting became about celebrating both these qualities - tender connections of the heart and the strong-willed determination needed to make a dream happen.
