Flying into the light, a new dawn, emerging into the day...
Started at the beginning of lockdown and finished on my return to the studio, this owl is emerging into the light. Seeing the world in a new way and also being seen. Her head is half in light and half in shadow, symbolising that tomorrow is a new day and bringing with it fresh hope and a new way of seeing.
I painted her with the flow of acrylic inks swirling with emotions. She was a place of refuge, meditation as I worked from my garage in lockdown and then back to the studio, carrying the light with her.
