FREEDOM - SOLD
These swans were painted during lockdown from my garage studio. In a time of great stillness when my heart also longed for flight. During those days I meditated alot and went deeply within. From this space these swans flew out, calling to be painted.
Freedom - a story about journeying, about the longing for freedom, the call for home. And finding home within. Travelling the world, travelling through life, and leaving a little piece of the heart in many places and many places in the heart.
Sometimes a piece comes along that expresses exactly where I am at that moment, taking me to a new level of understanding of self. These swans are one of those pieces, filled with flow and exhilaration and the overcoming of fears in its creation. Before painting, I meditated, seeking my centre to give each brushstroke clarity and myself courage. The paints flow in unpredictable ways and it is a dance of trust and hope. At times it feels almost as if life is expressing itself.
